Abstract

Scalloped spiny lobster (Panulirus homarus) is one of lobster species that can be found in Palabuhanratu Bay. Information about the reproductive biology of lobster is needed for lobster fisheries management. This study was conducted to analyze the reproductive biology aspect, the spawning season, and to find out the lobster fisheries condition due to the size at sexual maturity of Panulirus homarus in Palabuhanratu Bay. This study was conducted in October 2016 until March 2017. Carapace length and weight of lobster were measured, then laboratory analysis was carried out for the berried female lobster. Size at sexual maturity of female Panulirus homarus were 49,5 mm of carapace length. The length of first capture of male and female Panulirus homarus were 45,2 mm and 45,7 mm of carapace length. Berried female lobsters were found on each month of the study. Lobster fecundity ranged from 25.000 up to 151.000 eggs per female lobster. The peak of spawning season occurred on October.
